Soundmap MCCV School Garden, 2024
Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley
Grade 2/3 students combined their nature journaling practices, studies of 20th century artists, and materials explorations, to create a mixed media wall sculpture. Each student was assigned a plot in the MCCV school garden where they used abstract marks to sketch a map of the sounds they heard. Sketches were then translated into a three dimensional piece using recycled paper and cardboard, finished with gesso, acrylic varnish, and ink stain. Photo Credit: Shannon Paras
